VA - Northern Region: The Northern Region extends from Washington, DC south through the rolling countryside to Orange and Fredericksburg. The area offers historic sites like Mount Vernon, Montpelier, numerous Civil War battlefields, as well as sophisticated shops and gourmet dining.
VA - Central Region: The Central Region features vineyards and wineries, universities and recreational lakes. Charlottesville, Richmond, Danville and Lynchburg are the hub cities of this region.
VA - Shenandoah Region: The Shenandoah Region boasts orchards, caverns, Civil War sites, and the spectacular Blue Ridge Mountains with its Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway. Front Royal, Winchester, Harrisonburg, Staunton and Lexington are prominent cities.
VA - Southwestern Region: The Southwestern Region has been called the “Grand Canyon of the South”. Its acres of untouched forests, its powerful waterfalls, and its quiet lakes and streams are all a relief from modern life. It's a region steeped in Colonial and Civil War history.
WV - Potomac Highlands Region: Great outdoor adventures and good living come together in the Potomac Highlands. The Allegheny Mountain range, with peaks rising to 4,000 feet, dominates West Virginia's Potomac Highlands. WV - New River/Greenbriar Valley: The rich natural resources of the New River/Greenbrier Valley offer new treasures to today’s explorers. Each year, the region's rivers float whitewater rafters, while rock climbers scale the walls of the ancient New River Gorge. Miles of trails lead hikers, bikers and horseback riders beside sparkling streams, past history-rich abandoned mining towns, out to spectacular scenic overlooks and into charming villages.
